Glaucous Gull
Larus hyperboreus
First Winter:
December 27th 2004: a slightly darker bird flying overhead after being spooked by a Red-tailed Hawk.

December 28th 2004: a seemingly typical bird.

December 29th 2004: a cooperative bird, the same as the main photo on this page!
4 shots flying and landing.
January 9th 2005: a slightly creamier individual.
4 shots: 1 in flight, 2 standing and 1 comparing to other Herring Gulls nearby.
January 30th 2004: another seemingly typical bird.

January 31st 2004: 2 or 3 individuals from the same day. Definatley some of the same birds from the next day, below.

February 1st 2004: a bird which looked realitivley small billed.

February 1st 2004: seemingly normal. Eye starting to become slightly paler.
Second Winter:
December 27th 2004: a slightly paler 2nd winter bird.

Third Winter:
4th Winter/Adult:
December 24th 2004: another seemingly typical bird. I usually see little variation in adults.
1 flight shot from below, on a blue sky day.
January 28th 2005: a seemingly typical bird.
3 shots: two landing and 1 standing shot.
March 4th 2005: molting into alternate plumage, no longer with any markings on the head.
3 shots: 1 standing and 2 in flight.
Misc:
Large Group of young Glaucous Gulls taken January 31st, 2004. 5 birds in a small area.
