About Me
Read below for information about me. I have also made a separate pages about my equipment and my favourite links

Thanks to Ray Barlow for this image of me! Taken December, 2007
I was born in 1987, and I have always had an interest in birds. My family and I used to take walks to local parks each weekend, and one weekend adventure brought me to Beamer Conservation Area in Grimsby, Ontario. We happened to arrive during a large passage of Turkey Vultures and we spent some time watching these magnificent birds before going home. We decided to re-visit Beamer throughout the spring, and we stayed a little longer each visit, watching the migrating birds of prey as they passed overhead. After a few years, walks completely forgotten, and long days of hawkwatching I was feeling more confident in identifying the migrating Raptors. It wasn't until a local birder showed me some migrant Warblers behind the hawk tower that I realized there was a lot to learn about birds and I tried to learn as much as I could.
This hobby began to grow, signing up for the Ontbirds listserv, my family and I began to visit different birding "hotspots" and I spent days pouring through my bird books (I've worn out 1 Sibley Guide and now have another, well worn copy). With help from the many excellent, friendly and helpful birders here in Ontario I was now very interested in not only birds of prey, but all families of birds (including gulls)!
After finding a California Gull, a close encounter with a Northern Hawk Owl and several other memorable birding experiences, my family decided to purchase some Camera equipment in order to document the birds we had seen. I had always been interested in photography, and combining the two increased my interest even more. I have since been trying to take the best images of birds and other wildlife I can, and I hope to improve most of the images already on this website. I also have a page about the equipment that I use while out taking pictures. I first put this website up in late December, 2004. In early 2007 I began to re-work most of the site along with many of the images. I continue to learn more about photography and am always trying to improve my images I take. In this time, I also had the chance to learn from some excellent seasonal naturalists in Algonquin Park about other aspects of Natural History (and especially Butterflies and Dragonflies), and my interest in photography has follow suit. Please check back often, as I hope to continue to try to add new images frequently.
One might notice I mention "My Family" a lot in the above paragraphs. I am an only child, with my parents Susan and Eric. (Mom and Dad to me). Everything I have done in my life, from my previous experiences in competitive swimming to birding and the Photographs I take, is all thanks to them. I would not have been able to do any of these things if it were not for their help and support, and I will always be thankful for the help they have given me.
Thank you for visiting this site and viewing some of my images

As you can tell from my website name, the Peregrine Falcon is my favourite bird. Their speed and aerial abilities awe me every time I watch them. It is not only the speed that impresses me however, I always feel that the Peregrine has very "human like" emotions when I watch them, and I greatly enjoy any chance I have to view these amazing birds.
